Watched this KL UHD recently. I thought it looked nice. Good film, except for that terrible action one-liner delivered by Weller’s character.

Watched this KL UHD recently. I thought it looked nice. Good film, except for that terrible action one-liner delivered by Weller’s character.

Indeed, they did a pretty good job with an older master of this 1989 gem. Looked pretty clean all the way through, with a nice somewhat reserved execution of an HDR pass; I thought the DTS-HD MA 5.1 mix could have been much better, however.

Yeah, Weller's character was a bit "off" in this (I thought Crenna was the best performance here) but I believe that's what they were going for, given that he was supposed to be a geologist in command of this rag tag team of underwater miners.

An epic masterpiece and a stunning blu-ray!
The only thing I didn't like about it is that the restoration credits were placed before the exit music card.
I think they shoud have been placed in the very end after the exit music finished..

It's been many years, more than 2 decades maybe, that I had seen the remake.
I think both have their charm. I can't pick one of the two.
